png shlib name changed for png>=1.5.0, so bump PKGREVISIONs.

Also add some patches to remove use of deprecated symbols and fix other
problems when looking for or compiling against libpng-1.4.x.

The patch file in jumbo-patches is extracted in ${WRKDIR}, use it for patch,
to avoid wildcards for tar portability issue reported in PR#43079.

Put back a couple of IRIX conditionals the way they used to behave,

Fix abusers of LOWER_OPSYS to check OPSYS or MACHINE_PLATFORM instead.

- fine grained X11 dependencies for packages which have either USE_IMAKE
  or USE_X11BASE set, but don't include mk/x11.buildlink3.mk directly or

- introduce BUILDLINK_PREFIX.libXpm as alias for BUILDLINK_PREFIX.xpm
  in the !modular case
- fix some cases where the check for libX11 couldn't work at all by using
  C++ for compilation without including the proper headers

Verified using a full X11_TYPE=xorg bulk build without additional
breakage. Discussed with salo@, wiz@ and send to packages@ for feedback.

Rename variable MAKEFILE to MAKE_FILE.

when using alloca() on IRIX 5 alloca.h has to be included

Removed the superfluous "quotes" and 'quotes' from variables that don't
need them, for example RESTRICTED and SUBST_MESSAGE.*.

Bump BUILDLINK_ABI_DEPENDS.png and PKGREVISION for png-1.2.9nb2 update.

Point MAINTAINER to pkgsrc-users@NetBSD.org in the case where no
developer is officially maintaining the package.

The rationale for changing this from "tech-pkg" to "pkgsrc-users" is
that it implies that any user can try to maintain the package (by
submitting patches to the mailing list).  Since the folks most likely
to care about the package are the folks that want to use it or are
already using it, this would leverage the energy of users who aren't
developers.

   pull in the Jumbo patches from http://www.sonic.net/~roelofs/greg_xv.html.

   As far as I can see this covers all our existing patches for added
   functionality, although I cannot claim that I have tested each and
   every one of them in the new version.

   These patches disable a number of image formats that I think are less
   common, which have potential heap overflows in the code due to in-
   sufficient validation of image dimensions.

   The version of the Jumbo patch used here is the 20050501 version.

   Package revision bumped to nb10.

Define NO_SRC_ON_CDROM because the README says

  Permission to copy and distribute XV in its entirety, for
  non-commercial purposes, is hereby granted without fee, provided that
  this license information and copyright notice appear in all copies.

  Note that distributing XV 'bundled' in with any product is considered
  to be a 'commercial purpose'.

Define NO_BIN_ON_{CDROM,FTP} because the package has been patched, and
because the binary package does not include source.

  If you redistribute XV, the *entire* contents of this distribution
  must be distributed, including the README, and INSTALL files, the
  sources, and the complete contents of the 'docs' directory.

  The software may be modified for your own purposes, but modified
  versions may not be distributed without prior consent of the author.

drop maintainership, i no longer use this software

Libtool fix for PR pkg/26633, and other issues.  Update libtool to 1.5.10
in the process.  (More information on tech-pkg.)

Bump PKGREVISION and BUILDLINK_DEPENDS of all packages using libtool and
installing .la files.

Bump PKGREVISION (only) of all packages depending directly on the above
via a buildlink3 include.

Apply longname.patch and fix crash with long file names in visual schnauzer.
Bump package revision.

While here, convert to buildlink 3.

Bump package revisions for tiff update.
Tiff is backward compatible, but was broken on amd64 platform
so this makes sure new tiff is used.

take over maintainership

get rid of USE_GCC2/3 in pkg Makefiles, and set GCC_REQD or
USE_PKGSRC_GCC as appropriate, as this is handled by compiler.mk now.

Correctly build with gcc3 - no change to already compiled package configurations

Use tech-pkg@ in favor of packages@ as MAINTAINER for orphaned packages.
Should anybody feel like they could be the maintainer for any of thewe packages,
please adjust.

use imake man page handling so this now works on Darwin, Linux, etc.

bump PKGREVISION.

tidy up post-patch and post-configure targets:

- fix sed delimeter, quoting, consistency
- whitespace police

- use buildlink2
- Darwin has no malloc.h

allows this to build on Darwin.

Bump package revision to 4.

Stop "xv" from executing files starting with a "!" when they are selected
in the directory box. This is inconsistent with the command line handling
and can turn into a security problem. This change fixed PR pkg/17751
by Christian Biere. Bump package revision to reflect this change.

Give all packages which depend on "png" a version bump, and update
all dependencies on packages depending on "png" which contain shared
libraries, all for the (imminent) update to the "png" package.

Get rid of manually adding "nbX" to PKGNAME when a pkg was changed in
pkgsrc. Instead, a new variable PKGREVISION is invented that can get
bumped independent of DISTNAME and PKGNAME.

Example #1:
        DISTNAME=       foo-X.Y
        PKGREVISION=    Z
     => PKGNAME=        foo-X.YnbZ

Example #2:
        DISTNAME=       barthing-X.Y
        PKGNAME=        bar-X.Y
        PKGREVISION=    Z
     => PKGNAME=        bar=X.YnbZ (!)

On subsequent changes, only PKGREVISION needs to be bumped, no more risk
of getting DISTNAME changed accidentally.

Mechanical changes to 375 files to change dependency patterns of the form
foo-* to foo-[0-9]*.  This is to cause the dependencies to match only the
packages whose base package name is "foo", and not those named "foo-bar".
A concrete example is p5-Net-* matching p5-Net-DNS as well as p5-Net.  Also
change dependency examples in Packages.txt to reflect this.

Force compilation with "gcc" under Solaris because the "libtiff" from the
package sources requires linking with "libgcc".

Use "${MAKE_PROGRAM}" not "${MAKE}" in "pre-build" target (only used
under Solaris).

Update dependency on png to >=1.0.11 because of the shlib major bump.
Noted by Frederick Bruckman.

Make the pkg name a bit more standard (rename to 3.10anb1)

Because the minor number of the PNG library was increased packages compiled
using the newest PNG library won't work on system with an older one. To
prevent such problems with precompiled binary packages require at least
"png-1.0.9nb1" in all dependences.

Cleanup MKDIR usage => INSTALL_*_DIR
XXX need to teach pkglint to be more picky about this

Update to new COMMENT style: COMMENT var in Makefile instead of pkg/COMMENT.

Do not depend on (any) ghostscript.
If people want to view postscript, there are better viewers.

Alter dependencies.  Packages needing X11 drivers use

	DEPENDS+=	ghostscript-[6-9]*:../../print/ghostscript

and packages needing just any ghostscript binary use

	DEPENDS+=	ghostscript{,-nox11}-[6-9]*:../../print/ghostscript

Correct dependencies to find all applicable versions of ghostscript.
If ghostscript isn't installed, then install ghostscript-x11 as it
will always work.

Backout changes to use gstty and depend on ghostscript*-5.50nb2.

Depend on ghostscript-*nb1 since were modified to use gstty/gs.

Because the minor of "libpng" was bumped we must sure that packages
compiled for the update "png" package depend on it.

Use "png>=1.0.3" instead of "png-*" in dependence list.

Use wildcard dependence for "png" package.

Change to use wildcard dependency on tiff.

Work around a <stdarg.h> problem for just now.

Remove redundant dependence on "jpeg" package.

Add patches from
http://www.mit.edu/afs/athena/contrib/graphics/src/xv/patches/png
to enable PNG support.

Set PKGNAME to ${DISTNAME}pl1 to reflect this.

Remove NOPORTDOCS definition - it was useless anyway, as any attempt to
build a binary package with this definition would fail as the PLIST is
not correct.

If a package's documentation is overwhelming, it should arguably be handled
in a separate pre-requisite documentation package.

Make this package work on Solaris.

Add DEPENDS to ghostscript and remove hardcoding the path to /usr/pkg.

The Grand Homepagification:
	- New, optional Makefile variable HOMEPAGE, specifies a URL for
	  the home page of the software if it has one.
	- The value of HOMEPAGE is used to add a link from the
	  README.html files.
	- pkglint updated to know about it.  The "correct" location for
	  HOMEPAGE in the Makefile is after MAINTAINER, in that same
	  section.

Include bsd.prefs.mk in case NOPORTDOCS is set in /etc/mk.conf

Append a "/." to the ${WRKDIR} value in the find command, to ensure
that we traverse through any symbolic links.  Make the misc/kp package
Makefile a bit neater - remove an unnecessary temporary file.

Remove the old deprecated DEPENDS definition from bsd.pkg.mk.
Implement a new DEPENDS definition, which looks for an installed
package, building it if not present, and use it in preference to
LIB_DEPENDS.  This should make the package collection more useful on
NetBSD ELF ports.

Use the bsd.pkg.mk and bsd.pkg.subdir.mk files in the pkgsrc tree.
Remove redundant (and sometimes erroneous) comments.

Add "-follow" option to find, so it DTRT even if WRKOBJDIR is set.

Modify individual package Makefiles to use the new way of specifying
shared object dependencies (LIB_DEPENDS).
