Update to 0.7.2: We are pleased to announce the release of PyKaraoke v0.7.2, with improvements to the external MPG/AVI viewer support.
Update to 0.7.1: 0.7.1 This release has been brought up to date with Python 2.6 and now uses Mutagen to get MP3 info rather than the out-of-date MP3Info Python module. An issue with Folder View when filename-derivation is enabled has been fixed. 0.7.0: Professional hosting features were added. Many new playlist features were added, including performer names and kamikaze mode for random songs. Several GUI enhancements and additional configuration options were added.
Update to 0.6: PyKaraoke now works together with WxPython v2.8. Users with WxPython v2.6 are, however, still supported. There are also some other minor changes to the layout of the search results page, a change to the scrolling behaviour, and improved handling of corrupt CDG rip files. There are now vastly more options available on the Configure page.

PyKaraoke is a free karaoke player for Linux, FreeBSD, Windows and
GP2X.
You can use this program to play your collection of CDG, MIDI and
MPEG karaoke songs. No songs are provided, you must obtain these
from elsewhere.
In short, CDG is the format of professional karaoke CDs. These CDs
can be ripped to your hard disk, and turned into a .mp3 file together
with a .cdg file. This player gives you the ability to play those
mp3+cdg files. PyKaraoke Features:

* MIDI (.MID/.KAR) playback - Play MIDI format karaoke files
